Former Manchester United star Ryan Giggs and wife Stacey finally set to end £40million divorce battle with decree nisi

The £40million divorce battle between Ryan and Stacey Giggs will near its end when she is granted a decree nisi tomorrow.

Father of two Giggs, 43, has been fighting to keep more than half of the family fortune by claiming he made a “special contribution” to their bank balance because of his football skills.
The dispute will take another step closer to a conclusion when Stacey, 39, is expected to be granted a decree nisi at the Central Family Court in London tomorrow.
Neither she or the ex Manchester United star, who earned up to £150,000 a week during his glittering playing career, are expected to attend the brief hearing.

The couple wed in 2007 and their marriage survived his eight year affair with Natasha Lever, 34, the wife of his brother Rhodri, 40.
He also cheated on Stacey with Big Brother star Imogen Thomas, 34, and took out a gagging order in a bid to keep their romps secret.
He and Stacey finally split in April last year after he was linked with a PR executive.
When divorce proceedings started this year, her lawyers said she wanted proceedings to end as “swiftly and amicably as possible”.
James Brown, part of her legal team, said: “Mrs Giggs’ primary focus is wanting to bring this sensitive and difficult process to a close as swiftly and amicably as possible and enable her family to move on with their lives.
“She is disappointed that she has needed the assistance of the court in an attempt to do so but hopes that outstanding matters can be concluded soon.”
Stacey and her children have continued to live in the family home in Worsley, Greater Manchester.
Giggs retired as a player in 2014 after a record 963 appearances for United over 24 seasons. He won 64 international caps for Wales.
